I have seen Gnarls Barkley before at the Avalon in LA and was very impressed, so I had high expectations for the show at the bowl. Gnarls did not disappoint.
The show began with Charity Case off the new record, then proceeded with jams from St. Elsehere and The Odd Couple. Highlights included the acoustic version of 'Transformer' and my first live listen to 'Going On'.
They wrapped up with a 3 song encore that included 'Smiling Faces' and a cover of Radiohead's, 'Reckoner.'
Normally rocking elborately themed attire, Cee-Lo, Danger Mouse, and band opted for a more conservative gospel look...with CL and DM wearing shiny/sparkling jackets and the band in black.
In very Gnarls fashion, a memorable musical sermon was delivered. Halleluiah!
